Originally developed to even out the flow & enhance mixing techniques for extrusion products. The melt pump can be ordered for variable flow rates (See volume flow chart in Product Details). Designed to suit the Barrell 1/2 inch (12.7 mm) Mini Twin Screw Extruder and will also suit up to 16mm twin screw extruders with maximum output pressures of 100 bar. Comes complete with adaptor plate to suit most machines, heat bands, digital temperature and speed controllers.

Benefits of a melt pump

Promotes a more even flow and gives a benefit of creating a back pressure in the extruder meaning; the extruder can run faster and continue mixing when doing fine extrusions such as single fibre extrusion.
